Noonga Reconciliation Group promotes reconciliation through experiential education, cultural understanding and active involvement in reconciliation initiatives. NRG’s aims have been translated into many practical reconciliation initiatives, including the annual National Sorry day ceremony held at the Stolen Generations’ Memorial site in Kalinga Park.

Each year since 1998 Noonga Reconciliation Group has held a “sorry” ceremony at the Kalinga Park site and we plan to do so for years to come.

Those who gather at this site in late May each year are dedicated to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the quiet ceremony held on this day provides an opportunity to share in a healing process that allows us to express sorrow for their pain and suffering whilst making a commitment to work in partnership for a better future.

This gathering is built around the generosity of the Stolen Generations members. We thank them for their courage, fight, leadership, compassion and honesty in Truth Telling.

We are grateful for our student placement support from Community Living Association, Northside Connect, WWild and Three Peas Creche to make this happen!
